So Fall Quarter has begun! I'm taking one math class this quarter, the rest are general requirement classes (History, Asian American Studies, Education)... to be fair, last year was all math, and I still have breadth reqs to finish..... so I guess it might even things out. Hopefully!
However, I don't feel like a proper maths student.. I feel like I'm studying humanities. So much reading! And probably within the next 10 weeks, SO much writing! We'll see how this turns out.
My job is fun. It's a good way to keep my mind off of school and other things in life, in general. Plus, it's nice to get paid. :)
Still missing Portsmouth, can't get away from it. It's been a year since I arrived at the Langstone Halls and was pointed and laughed at because I was wearing so much to keep warm. Too funny. I miss everyone and everything there. But I know you all haven't seen the last of me. :D :D :D For now, I have to complete other goals, and then go from there. I'LL BE BACK. Until then, good luck to everyone there for a great year.
And if anyone from UCI is reading this, here's to a great quarter. I'll try to update this more often.

##04 -- Hiiiii
You need some catching up with Julia!
As of now, I have a place to live for this coming school year, and I'll be living with 3 really cool girls. The year before I left for England, I was the youngest girl in the apartment. This time around, I'll be the oldest. x) I'm looking forward to it.
I also got myself an awesome job. I work at a coffee place which is built in an area at campus surrounded by three different departments. I'm going to have me some fun. :) I'm learning basic coffee making.. I had to taste coffee today. Surprisingly, I'm ready to fall asleep anytime now.
I think the month of July has been pretty long.. lots of job/apartment hunting. But I stuck it out and got both. Hooray for me! :) I foresee August as maybe another long month, though hopefully with my job keeping me busy. No big trips(England! Is enough for now :) ) And I'll have to continue getting used to early morning starts. Since this past Sunday, I've been waking up before 6am. It's not easy for a person like me! I admire those who have it as a part of their daily lives.
Portsmouth, I miss you dearly. Ahh, I sent a postcard to a friend recently. (Smurfy!) If anyone wants one from my places in Cali, message me! Or if you want to send me one from your town, feel free because I LOVE postcards! Smurfy sent me one from Cheltenham :D I think any city from England would be lovely.

##03 -- Independence Day Holiday and other stuff
Helloooooo
A bunch of stuff happened since my last note!
My cousin Ria(aka Yabi) came to visit SoCal for a couple of days. Because of her, I now know that there are such islands called Turks and Caicos Islands, haha. But those days were fun. I hung out with my Abanto family a little bit, and we even played Scene It, Harry Potter Edition. That was fun. :) Father's day was also spent with Abantos. Same fun stuff, and of course good food!! Oh yeah, and my cousin Diana came to visit too! So a lot of family involvement this past month.
Job hunting has been tough. Outlook isn't really good either! Oh, California. And the sales tax was just recently raised. I didn't like 8.25%, but I miss even those days(it's now 9.75%! x.x)
But I've also been meeting up with some friends. And I have been getting more Starbucks than I usually ever get. I always usually avoid it, even when I was in England, even during my life BEFORE England. So, it's weird. I miss Costa and Cafe Nero! But here and there I see Diedrich Coffee--my favorite coffee place in Irvine! Love that place. OH here I go talking about coffee again.
Anyway, I've been following Michael Jackson's story on the news ever since TMZ reported he was rushed to the hospital. The mania isn't dying down here; it's amazing how people flew from any part of the world for him. I wasn't a hardcore fan but he was always in the background in my life, and I would know the words to his songs. And if I didn't hear his songs from the man himself, I heard them through other songs, movies, tv.. everything. I mean, even McFly covered "Black or White" on their arena tour(yeah, I mentioned McFly :P). So yeah, what that man did was legendary, regardless of how much he was battered, bruised, and beaten by the media. RIP Michael Jackson.
Soo.. so much stuff happened, but I never felt obligated to take any pictures! I need a camera. Actually, I do have a batch of pictures somewhere.. should upload them sometime.. when I'm not lazy.. haha. Hey everybody in England, hope the heat isn't torturing you! It's probably just as hot here, even I'm feeling it!
Lastly, Happy Independence Day to the U.S.! Because of this past year, I will always remember why the year 1776 was so important, haha. :) Have a great day! xx

##01 -- First week back in California!
Originally posted 13/06/09 11:30am
Lol okay, I'm updating.
A month before I had to come back to Cali, I thought of songs that fit me going back home. Here are some:
*- "Home" by Daughtry. But I didn't like the line, "These places and these faces are getting old," because I will never get sick of a lot of places in England. Or faces. :)
*- "Home" by Michael Buble. He mentions Paris and Rome, and I've been to those places! I was surrounded by, a million people I, ... never felt alone. So this song was out too x)
*- "Sweet Home Alabama" by [I forgot] I still remember one night when me and some of my friends had hot pot and my friend Steven sang, "Sweet Home California"!!!!!!!!
*- "Home Sweet Home" [recently sung by] Carrie Underwood. Every time a contestant was kicked off, I always thought of home because of Carrie. haha. I'm on my waaayyyy... home sweeet hoooome....
*- "California" by Phantom Planet. California, here I come, right back where I started from.
Okay I'm done. The last two songs fit, I think. I'm home now. It's been one week since I left England. I started looking for jobs already, decided not to go to school this summer, but lately just been lounging at home [playing The Sims 2!]. I went to the movies on Monday with Mom and my sister. We saw Up, which is another great film by Disney/Pixar. And today I drove for the first time since last July-August! I didn't drive at all in England, but for some reason I would be convinced that I should be driving on the left side of the road. lol.
A lot of my friends are graduating/have graduated this week, in Irvine and everywhere in Cali, and also in Portsmouth! Congratulations, everyone! I'm with you in spirit, always! I still have up to a year before I get to walk.
I'm now waiting to go to my cousin Kevin's birthday party. I'm sure it'll be big since all my family is going, including my mom's side of the family. And my Kevin's friends will be there too, I bet. Did I mention it's his 21st? It's gonna be massiiiive. Also, Happy Birthday to Anais!! And Happy Birthday to Brintharrr!!! I want to go to England to celebrate their birthdays with them.. but for now, I'll send them internet hugs~~~
